Return to Chickpeas Home

first grade field trip

The first grade had a trip to the farm! The farm was called Green Meadows. I was partners with E'leza. I got to ride on a bus.

I am milking a cow. It felt really squishy and soft. I got milk out of the udder.

We are watching a show. We saw some pigs run. They were really fast! I got to sit next to my friends.

We got to go in some of the animals' pens, like the cows. We could pet the cows.

We saw donkeys. Someone went in the donkeys' pen and they picked up the donkey and let the children pet it. The baby was just four days old!

When Daddy picked up a baby chick, it pooped in his hand! Haha! Daddy was mad and put the chick down. When he picked up a baby duck we petted it, and when we were done he put it down. I went into the chickens' pen and there was a lot of chickens. Lots of different kinds, too.

We got to see kangaroos! We chased it when it bounced, and we all laughed because it was really funny.

We got to see goats, and we could reach in and pet them, but not the mommy goat because it would bite you! We thought the baby goats were really, really cute. There was this baby goat, it was standing on its mom! I thought that was really funny.

That is one of the biggest turkeys I saw at the farm! There were other really big turkeys there too. We could not pet the turkeys but we could go in their pen. They chased kids, and kids chased the babies. The babies were running really fast! Some people eat turkeys. I had some one time, at Thanksgiving way way way back in 2003! I thought it was a little good. I didn't feel like eating more. I'm vegetarian still.
